Publications

The Commission produces investigation reports, annual reports and research and prevention publications.

An investigation report must be presented to the NSW Parliament whenever a public hearing has been conducted on an investigation. Such a Report is produced pursuant to section 96(2) of the Police Integrity Commission Act 1996 (the Act).

An Annual Report describes the overall work the Commission for each July - June financial year. It must be presented to the NSW Parliament by 31 October, immediately following the end of the financial year. It is produced pursuant to section 99 of the Act and also to section 12 of the Annual Reports (Departments) Act 1985.

The research and prevention publications produced by the Commission include papers and reports relating to police misconduct and strategies for preventing police misconduct.

Included under other publications are the reports of the Royal Commission into the NSW Police Service and publications that do not fall into the categories mentioned above.
